INVISIBLE SPACES

INVISIBLE SPACES is a project by Candy Lenk and Charlotte Boesen for the Design Department at the University of Applied Sciences Coburg

Based on the potential of „foreign tools“ from music and graphic design, the students choose a topic. The topics are transformed into three-dimensional models using atmosphere, rhythm, inversion, repetition, variation, etc. Transitions from one form of media to another are treated as methodical breaks and are used to view the spatial idea from different perspectives. The description of the topic is developed in parallel, and the work should discuss and verify it on a functional level. Through the translation into another form of media and the necessary interpretation therein, the overall spatial idea is further defined. Dealing with space in music and graphic design leads to an extension and a questioning of the concept of space in architecture.
