STACKED WOOD AND ACOUSTIC DEVICE

POSTED IN archiv, art, exhibitions, conceptual design 08/03/2014

Candy Lenk and Anna Borgman received the 1st price at art competition for the state guest reception building at the future airport berlin.

The idea is based on the theme of the surrounding pine grove. The grove is converted to a contemporary diorama alike an abandoned expedition or study site. The stack of wood is an energetic concentrate of the forest. The microphone, which is directed at the stack, picks up sound waves. The sound is digitally transformed and replayed inside the building. The installation overcomes the architectural barrier between inside and outside and reproduce the pine grove acoustically inside the airport.
