ANTINOMIA

POSTED IN archiv, art, exhibitions, conceptual design 24/04/2006

ANTINOMIA is a live video installation by Candy Lenk.

A square field is divided into four areas of one square meter each: red balloons, skewers, paper strips and glass bottles. A miniature camera with a noisy motor continuously drives through these fields. The recorded video stream is transmitted into a separate exhibition room and projected live.

Antinomy: literally: the mutual incompatibility of two laws. According to Kant it is the contradictory result when pure reason is applied to aspects of sensuous perception, resulting in two statements, neither of which can to be proven to be untrue. The thesis and antithesis do not form exhaustive alternatives. Each side has a true thesis.

Antinomia is part of the thesis exhibition by Candy Lenk at the
Berlin School of Art at the Tonhaus Corso in Berlin Wedding.
